Friday!
Ahhh I really have not been good with my LJ. I had an AWESOME time in San Diego. I was a teeny bit bummed I couldn’t do the marathon, but as I watched those girls getting ready and being all nervous I realized I was relived I wasn’t having to do it. = ) I did get to volunteer, got a free t-shirt and sandals. I put ice and water into big trashcan bins for the runners when they finished. But the ultimate volunteer job I got was to type in the numbers so the announcer could call people coming in. It was soooo much fun! I got to be in the extended cab above the finish line and see everybody, plus he let me announce Camille coming in! Way cool.
I liked the part of San Diego we were in a lot. The stores were awesome and so were the places to eat. But as always the traffic sucked and every day always seems like its overcast because of the smog. I sit there cruising past everyone while in the carpool lane wondering why the heck these people don’t car pool. They would rather sit in wall to wall traffic, by themselves, than have others with them cruising past everyone. Sigh. Californians. =) I’m not saying this to offend anybody just kind of making a joke stereotype. My cousin who lives in LA did a typical “Californian thing” when we went to leave the hotel I was turning off all the lights and she says, “Don’t worry about the lights and stuff, the maids will turn them off this afternoon.” I was shocked. I said, “Why leave them on all day and waste power, assuming the maid will turn them off that afternoon. Why not save the power and just turn them off now when we are leaving?.” She rolled her eyes. It shocks me though to think that it makes sense in her mind, to just leave the lights on because someone else will turn them off. For hours I might add as we had one of the last rooms to be cleaned. Nevertheless I love her dearly, bless her “Californian” heart. = ) (Once again not trying to offend anyone)
Anyways, side is feeling much better, it had been bothering me for the past week or so. Had a great time and was worried about coming back to do my presentation but it went really really well. 100% well as a matter of fact! I was so freakin stoked! Now I just have one final on Tuesday at 1pm and then I’m home free baby! Hope to see some of you next Saturday at some point. = )
