Luck really doesn't seem to be on his side, does it? Poor baby! Don't worry...he'll be fine. He HAS to be? Who else am I gonna torture in my next story? ;)
Oh, such suspense. You really had me as to whether they were going to be in time to save the ones still living and release the ones Father had previously consumed. But yay! No more feasting! Dean's gone a long way to redeem himself in John's eyes, and John has some guilt to bear, now, too.
Yes...John is going to have a whole new perspective, I think. Let's hope he doesn't eff things up now. He has a golden opportunity to be there for his son and help him heal like he should have done back when he first got hurt on the salt-and-burn.
Here's to hoping he'll get it all together. Dean really needs him.
Thanks so much for the comment, arliss. :) Have a great weekend.
"He still got you in the end, though, didn't he?" John thoughtlessly threw the words out as he studied the map. Mei shifted in her seat and cleared her throat, glancing from a crushed Dean to an oblivious John.
I read this and HATED John so much, he had no idea what suffering Dean had been through (including his excruciating 12 days in the kiln) & I wanted John to suffer and fall under Fathers spell. And you did it, you put John under Fathers spell and showed how strong Dean is, even though the poor lamb is wounded again. Thank you so much!
Yep, yep...John got a first-hand experience and found that he wasn't any better at fending off Father's magic than Dean was. Hopefully this has been a humbling experience for John. He needs to strap on his big-boy pants and be the father that Dean needs.
Thanks so much for the comment, jj. I appreciate it!
Yep...John was just as susceptible to Father's magic as Dean was. More, actually...since John didn't even try to put up a fight. Heh. Let's see what he does with this new information. He needs to take a good, long look in the mirror and face up to the part he played in this mess. And he only has ONE more chapter to do it in. Hee!
Yay! I just knew Dean would get the kill and release the souls. I like the irony that he is again with the same injury that brought him to this town to begin with!
Hah! Right? Poor Dean...he left The Kindred in the same shape he arrived. Poor thing! But the monster is dead and hopefully he'll have a humbled John to help him get back on his feet. We'll see!
