they lived inside four sides that enclosed their movements, indicated a symmetrical space. a single ligament existed between them, thick and sinewy. it was in an obscure cabinet in some ordinary kitchen that their incomprehensible wit and sibling glib flourished. it was on occasions, when strangers haphazardly opened the brown door, that folds and folds of frustration flooded out. their innate differences were locked in a preternatural restraint, a familial recognition contracted only in vocalized terms, valid through a mutually confused understanding of each other.
