Squash lust

Oh wow....hot on the heels of a nikujaga experiment last week, I made up some sesame noodles tonight and some kabocha in dashi with peas. SO GOOD. The combination of the two reminds me of a dish I had at the Pumpkin Beer Festival at the Elysian a couple of years ago--it was manna from heaven at the time, but you're not exactly picky when you're well on your way to drunk on a variety of REALLY good beers. I'm delighted that it still tastes like I remember without the beer.

Maybe it's the weather, but I've just had a nice bowl of pumpkin and the thought of stuffing a hollowed-out Sugar Pie minipum with a lentil curry still sounds like a really awesome idea. I LOVE fall food.
