Can't say I feel all that as potentially "real" today, but still, its nice.
Long night at work, started with 11pts, sent 2 of the 3 kids home so ended up with 8 adults and 1 child. So much for workin "peds" :) I really dont claim too strongly to be a "peds nurse" so much anymore, not in my heart anyway. Hell, adult admission papers are easier, sometimes I think I'd prefer an adult unit, but one that is pretty "low risk" *G* Not used to all those code blues and such. Hell, a friend of mine told me he's getting MAJOR money being an expert witness in malpractice cases. He put in 25hrs on a case including research, deposition and trial and made $5000. FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. A-fuckin-mazing. I think I need to re-focus on risk managment and buy some nice suits and hit up my lawyer friends ;)
I slept about 3hrs after work, coughed quite a bit during that "in bed" time too :/ Then they called to see if I'd work tonight and there is just no way Im doing it again. I told em to tell Zena if anything hideous happened to try and call me, but I just cracked open a cold beer and its goin down way too fast and easy for me to be useful in a few hours I fear.
I cut down weeds today while Bobby worked his ass off to get the grass cut. I gotta give him props, he kept at it despite the screwed up lawnmower. Yeah, the one I just bought a couple of months ago will barely stay running. The air filter is pristine, its got oil, has gas etc. and thats about the extent of my knowledge. I dont know what to do next. I have no idea where the receipt is and doubt walmart even has any left this late in the season 'cause they were a special purchase kinda item. *sigh*
After he and La Kiddo left (she went to his Moms for the night), I worked on laundry more (drying the 2nd load now), cleaned out more junk from the kitchen and transferred some junk from the living room to the new shelf in the bedroom. This stirred up more dust and consequently, more coughing..wheeee. I wanted to put up a curtain on the little door to my half-bath but I screwed that up this am at walmart by buying totally wrong sizes in things and had to return them. I'll rethink my options.. I also have tested out some clear coat for the cornhole set and am going to wait til the small portion I did dries so Im sure it isnt going to eat the paint. WHich would be my luck. Seems like something else got done too.. oh, put up the new magazine/toilet paper holder. Now to put magazines in it :)
But for now, its beer-thirty and Im going to rest my sore back and prop up my swollen "I worked 2 night shifts and barely sat down and didnt lay down long enough today to let em rest" feet and talk to sb_pyrat online for awhile.
If the beer continues to go down smoothly, I'll try and keep the posting to a minmum.. or at least keep adding to one meme/quiz post if I get hooked on them so as not to keep cloggin up your lists :)
