I understand some people try to drench once a week, to get the roots to go deeper? I'm trying this with my windowsill rosemary and it seems happy. So obviously it will scale up to a garden perfectly well.
Hawksmoor with Dad and Hazel yesterday was brilliant. Expensive but it's not like I'm going to go every week, or even every six months. You should definitely take me there the next time you visit London...
It's the pots at the front in direct sunlight; they can't go more than four days even if it's cold/overcast once they're actively growing- well, the lavender and rosemary can last longer, but there are other plants in with them. And newly planted things in the garden need a drop as well, but once they're established I don't water at the back at all.
(Planted out the new buddleia and snow-in-summer today- s-i-s was enormously potbound and looks very sad. Oh well, it was only 70p. Also planted out seedling sunflowers and some mixed wildflowers, which I'm expecting will probably die but you never know.)
