something about today huh?

there's something incredibly comforting about having paint all over my hands. almost like my hands have been places and they tell a story. i think watercolors are definitely my medium of choice. what's funny is i didn't start using it on a regular basis until this year. this year i tried to free myself from the boundaries of realism and try to develop my own style. freeing my mind was a process that took years and years of accepting my insecurities as something that might make what i create even more beautiful. maybe my insecurities are what make the painting beautiful in the first place. i like watercolors because there's so much room for making mistakes, and i find that the more mistakes i make, the more i love what i painted.
