Tribal Fusion Faire

Today was Tribal Fusion Faire, a festival of Belly Dance. I was planning to go with Fyrchikn, but had not heard back, so called Missy, and she agreed to meet me there. Then Fyrchikn called and said she was on her way too! Cool. I got there, and saw Amrik, Raja and Mathu immediately, and Wendy waved me through, so I scored some indian food from Raja, and went in. Chris was just inside the door. I was so happy! Indian food, and three members of my guild to hang with. No money to spend really, but Indian Richard was due to go onstage at 5:20. Oh, and DaVid, one of the performers who remembered meeting me last year ate lunch with me while I waited for Fyrchikn and Missy. Saw lots of good performers, and just before leaving, found the much coveted necklace/belt/hair tie that I have spent a month looking for! Yay! It was nice to be there to support Richard's guild, and see the other shows, as well as check out all the lovely merchandise. Wendy does a great job putting this thing together! The good news is, I left my Christmas money home, and so only spent 27 dollars at the show, and 9 of that was food and chai, which I shared with Chris. The necklace thingy is THE coolest. It's peacock colored beads, and you can wear it multitudinous ways. I saw one in Glamour, made by "scunci" but these were nicer, so I'm really happy. Also talked to folks today, they are much calmer, and let me off the hook about driving up there. They will come for New Year's and also are going to pay off all my credit cards and give me one of their cars! I was totally hoping for the Sebring, but the Grand Am will do. Maybe I can paint it. (not into turquoise) Anyway, I'm so glad they thought it through and realized the utter ridiculousness in my driving 9 hours up and nine hours back, spending money unnecessarily, and leaving Carl stranded and lonely, when they'll be here in 2 weeks. All is well.
