It's a little silly, if you ask me. But they hired me without checking much into my background, so I wasn't going to say no.

I dyed it because there was only one place that would even talk to someone my age, with my name, and no way to prove I even went school, so I thought I'd better not press my luck. Turns out it was a waste of time.

[she blinks at that, then bites her lip] .. sorry about that. Want me to ask my boss if you can work here? I think I could get him to agree. And I wouldn't mind the company, actually. No, that's not it. [rubs his eyes with a hand] It isn't that I didn't get the job. They, err...liked me. The job was...the place, uh....it wasn't what I thought it was going to be.

[... and now she smacks him on the arm. but that second statement makes her eyebrows shoot into her hair and her eyes just go a little wider as she gives him a "do I want to know?" kind of look.]

I didn't even know they had stores that sell that kind of thing. Hell, I knew you could get it, but I didn't have a clue that that's what the place was supposed to be.

.... [one of her hands drifts over her mouth as she listens to this, and by the end she's unsuccessfully trying to stifle a helpless gigglefit]
