There were a lot of reasons why waking up that morning should have been strange for Marissa. As if being back in Newport wasn't weird enough, there was the fact that she'd apparently gone back in time -- The bed she woke up in wasn't at Caleb's or tucked into the lovingly-decorated room at her dad's, it was in her old room, the one in the house she's grown up in, next door to the Cohen's.
Really, it should have been beyond freaky to wake up in some sort of literal deja vu, but it wasn't. It felt natural, in fact, as if she'd found herself in a dream where a benevolent sandman had pushed the reset button.
That was, until she noticed she wasn't the only one curled up in the four-poster.
"Ray?" she cried in disbelief as she tossed back the blankets, and sure enough there he was, dark hair a mess as he drooled on one of her teddy bears. "What are you doing here?" she asked, not because she didn't want him around, but because... well, this was her nostalgic home dream, and he didn't fit, disheveled and tattooed and prone across her pink sheets.
