I am still up at this hour because I'm waiting for a video of the Miss Sixty fashion show to load, so that I can see Irena Lazareanu lose her cool and start laughing on the runway. I was cut off from my last entry, and a few things have happened that are worth mentioning.

This past weekend I finally made it up to the Acropolis. There are pictures on facebook, and the whole complex is quite impressive. For some reason I was obsessed with the Theater of Dionysos, so there are several pictures of that. Also the Theater of Herodes. What is it with me and theaters? Getting a taste of what my on-site class will be like makes sitting through his crazy/confusing lectures worth it. The professor does all of these drawings on the board, vaguely referring to what they are, and never putting the parts together to create a whole building. The most confusing part for me is the cornice area and the inside of the walls, because I can't seem to fit it in going the correct way around my temple. I'm sure when I'm in front of an actual temple I will know what he's talking about. He works at the Propylaea, which means the class will get to go to all of the restricted areas.

The National Museum is actually a bit disappointing. Though they have interesting pieces, I'm not sold on the layout. There doesn't seem to be a real flow to it and someone said they notices that the Mycenaean room is labeled as pre-historic (maybe it's a translation problem?), but it's still great to have an art history class where you are actually looking at the objects. I also enjoy taking the trolley-bus there every day. It makes me feel less clueless when I successfully use public transportation.

The new Acropolis museum is still not finished, but my sculpture prof has assured us that it will be done before the semester is over. I've heard so many promising things about it. I'm incredibly excited to see it.

This Thursday is Molly's (one of the girls in my apartment) birthday and on Monday it is Aubrie's birthday (another girl in my apartment), so we're doing an entire birthday weekend. People went out tonight, but I stayed in so I could get sleep and wake up for my classes. This silly obsession with needing to see the video is keeping me up, though. Tomorrow (today?) we're seeing an illusionist that is supposedly the best in Europe. I love things like that, so it should be exciting. Friday we're doing a nice Taverna (traditional Greek restaurant) dinner. At some point we're having a party in the apartment and going out to clubs.

I want some updates from home, so all of you should feel free to e-mail me! Especially Eva, who said she has a lot of stories. I miss you guys!
