My Bike Ride, Take 2

Sep 13, 2005 18:30

So today, I went for that bike ride. I ended up riding a total of 13.125 miles, and I didn't have the same episode like I did last time. Since now I knew what to expect from the ride, I took it easier earlier on and kept a slower, steadier pace. I drank lots of water at regular intervals and actually felt really good with the ride. There were some strenuous parts, but nothing I couldn't handle through will and determination. Man some of the hills around here are intense. I also went a much better way with lots of sidewalks.

I first went to the Nebraska Furniture Mart ("The Mart" as it's called 'round here) and got The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. They only had it in fullscreen, but for $13, I'm not going to complain too much. I almost got a 50-pack spindle of CD-Rs for $17, but talked myself out of it, because I don't really need CD-Rs right now. Not that I need the DVD either, but I don't think I'm gonna ever find a better deal than $13. And CD-Rs are always on sale somewhere.

After I headed out of there, I went over to the Crossroads Mall to go to Suncoast. That mall is much smaller than I thought it was going to be. I found Suncoast with no problem and immediately found volume 13 of "Initial D", and it was on sale, as well, but for $15. I spent the next hour just going through all the DVDs, paying extra special attention to the Sci-Fi/Horror section. There were a lot of DVDs I want, but at prices just a little more than I was comfortable paying. I love crappy horror movies, but even I can't justify $15 for most of them. They're more $10 DVDs; which is part of how my DVD collection got to be so big ... I like cheap movies. I ended up also picking up a used copy of Friday for $9, and an Army of Darkness mini figurine set of Evil Ash and a Deadite Scout on clearance for $1.88 (normally $15). I then went to the food court which had a whopping three restaurants in it.

I then headed back home, taking a different route, but meeting back up with how I got there, and had a nice ride home. The sun was out and shining full blast by this point, and I got a little sweaty. But a great work out. I even made it up the big hill to my dad's without getting off to walk up the last part of it like I did last time.

All in all, it was a great ride today.
