I feel like I've been productive today. I went down to a Cingular store and transfered my plan to Omaha, so that now I don't have to worry about pesky roaming charges anymore. I now have an Omaha number. I also found out that I'm eligable for a phone upgrade in December! I thought I was going to have to wait until the spring since I signed up for a 2 year contract two springs ago. So, this means I get to get a Motorolla Razr phone a couple months earlier than I thought. Slick styling, here I come. I got to check out one in the store. Sleek and sexy. I also had to upgrade my plan, since my $29.99 plan isn't offered anywhere in the US anymore. So, I had to get the $39.99 plan, but that offers nation-wide coverage, so no more roaming charges anymore at all! So, when I go to Colorado to help with Rachel's film in October, I can still use my phone and not have to worry about paying an arm and a leg to check my voicemail.
Then, I went by the Blockbuster I'm trying to transfer into and spoke with the store manager. I got all the necessary info and gave that to Brian, my old store manager, to give to Dave, the regional manager, so take care of the transfer. I go in on Sunday around noon to speak with Ken, the store manager of the Omaha Blockbuster, in a little interview. Nothing too taxing, I'm sure, but I wanna make a good impression.
My dad also brought up an old computer chair and a table from outside, so I have a little desk area in my room now. No more having to hurt my neck to look at my monitor on the dresser. I feel bad, because my dad built an extension on his desk in the basement for me, but I feel more comfortable having my computer in my bedroom. Particularly if I don't have a TV in here, 'cause I need noise to fall asleep, and atleast my computer will play DVDs. He said it's not a big deal, because he's wanted more desk space anyway. My room is shaping up nicely, and the last of my boxes are on their way via UPS, thanks to Mista Petey. 'Cause he's cool like that. My dad and I are going down to the Amtrak station in a bit to pick up my bike.
I've also been trying to think of DVDs I have that my dad and Jenny would like. I don't wanna pick any that go against Catholicism, because I don't want to offend them. They're respectful of my views, and I want to be respectful of theirs. Especially since my dad has taken the Catholic teachings to heart and volunteers a lot. I can respect that. I have issues with people who try to convert other people or who try to get by on religious loopholes. I have a list of Danny Deckchair, The Station Agent, Dancer, Texas: Population 81, and Bug that I think they would enjoy. My dad is into independent films, so I'm hoping we can use that as a springboard into some father-son bonding. Movies are my passion, and if we can use that to bring us closer together, then I will jump at the opportunity.
