Things To Do In Denver When You're Broke As Fuck

May 26, 2006 13:16

So, I have no money until the 31st. Well, I have some money, but just enough to keep me in daily essentials ... barely. And I have a 3-day weekend and nothing to do with it. So, I'm scoping out free shit to do so I'm not alone in my room all weekend. Well, not alone, it'd be just me and the ants.

Denver Art Museum
Since they're renovating the Denver Art Museum, and levels 2-7 are closed, levels 1 & C are open and FREE! It looks like on Saturdays, the museum is free to Colorado residents anyway, but either way, it's FREE! They have exhibit called "Building Outside the Box" which is about the renovations they're doing. The building looks neat, so it might be worth heading over to check it out. Plus, the building is, like, 3 blocks from my apartment.

Capitol Hill People's Fair
Oooooo, next weekend (June 3rd & 4th) is the Capitol Hill People's Fair at the Civic Center Park. The CHUN Capitol Hill People's Fair exists as a celebration of the diverse Denver urban community and its residents. As Colorado's Premier Arts and Crafts Festival, the uniqueness and magic of CHUN's Capitol Hill People's Fair is created by the careful blending of great family fun, carefully selected handmade arts & crafts, delicious culinary delights, fabulous entertainment and the commitment to raise funds for and promote the missions of non-profit organizations.
Definitely adding that to my calendar of things to do. And it's FREE! But, too bad it's not this weekend.

I need to go and stand on the 15th step of the Capitol Building, since that step is exactly 1 mile above sea level. Need to find more free stuff to do for this weekend ...

free shit, denver
