- Oozes, gelatinous cubes, and their ilk
- Monkeys (GIANT and tiny--imagine an army of marmosets!)
- Carnivorous ostriches
- Um, hello, DINOSAURS. How the hell did you miss that one?
- Tribbles (or something similar...you mentioned this morning you weren't going with anything too specific)
- Snakes on a plane
- Spiders
- Dragons
- Bigfoot
- Turrists
- Nazis
- Insects with a hive mind

I'm sure there are more.

Time travelers was going to be my first suggestion. Could also use some dimension travelers, who could easily be any of the other things (like Nazis from a Nazi victory scenario).

Other ideas:

Swarms of rats
Mutants!
Mole people / degenerate underground troglodytes
Wizards / witches / voodoo doctors
Superintelligent animals of an improbable species
Godlike artificial intelligences
Orbiting battlestations
Plucky hackers
Gigantic, improbable, steam-powered contraptions
Atlanteans
Cultists
One of those crystal skulls
At least one mummy (seriously)
An archaeologist (and for extra fun, make him a real archaeologist who carries brushes and chisels instead of whips and guns)

And... out for now.

Jamie says, "It's a lumpfish." With a tone of voice that says, "Duh, what else could it be?"

And she says it's what a certain type of caviar comes from.

The ones pictured in Wikipedia don't look like they're about to rip out your soul.

* Improbable alignments of the planets!
* Mimics (bonus points if they're not treasure chests)
* Rides in mine-carts
* A large display of weaponry (preferably ranging from at least Medieval to modern)
* An allusion to at least one well-known character from another fictional universe
* Carnivorous pudding
* Shopping malls
* Starbucks

More later, if I get more sugar in my system.
