Shard didn't really understand what Christmas was at five years old. It wasn't that they hadn't celebrated it at all. It was more that celebrations had been a lot different when she was a child.
She curled up in bed on Christmas Eve, wearing her Batman shirt with her hair down. And woke up to find herself an adult once more. Through whatever magic had made her five to begin with, the shirt ended up as an adult size, too.
It took a little time to get her mind settled and deal with the new memories and the weirdness of the previous week or so. Then she stood up, getting herself together and putting on a pair of yoga pants. She stopped at the guest room, checking in to see that Bishop was there. And back to full size (because of things that haven't been played out yet). Grinning, she shut the door quietly to let him sleep in.
The next stop was the kitchen, where she started the coffee and got down a couple of cups. She probably shouldn't do this, of course, but it was Christmas and Bruce had definitely earned it. She left a note on the counter, picked up the two cups and headed for Bruce's room. She kicked the door in lieu of knocking and grinned when it opened. "Merry Christmas, Bruce."
