No need for an introduction

I've become rather re-interested in poetry lately. Spoken word poetry to be exact. While flying home from a trip out west, I watched a TED talk featuring a spoken word poet named Sarah Kay. I like her style and it awakened that desire in me to create imagery through words. I didn't realize until after watching this presentation that spoken word is basically a mix of poetry and theater. If you know anything about me you would understand how appealing that combination is to me.She reminds me of my friend Ellie, who is also good with words. Ellie have you ever tried spoken word? Check out her TED talk

If I should try some spoken word poetry I will be sure and post attempts here. Livejournal these days feels like an abandoned building, occupied only by the faithful squatters. I've mulled over the idea of deleting my account many times, but can't seem to do it. Besides I prefer to feel somewhat alone on the interweb instead of having each moment examined by the microscope that is social networking.
