I was in a single surgery from 9 AM till 4 PM today. It was only till 4, because I excused myself and said I had a lecture, which was a lie. The procedure was cool (removing part of the esophagus and attaching the stomach to the upper part of the remaining esophagus), but good God there's only so long I can stand in one place and retract stuff. I was restracting at one point for over an hour without a break.
24 hour trauma call tomorrow. Saturday. We have to do one weekend call, I'm getting it over with. Parents coming up to Jax for Mother's Day. That should be interesting ...
