I must admit to being semi-lame this weekend--as least as far as Baycon is concerned. I skipped Friday, got there late (-ish) Saturday, bailed early Sunday (but the Phoenix landing--that was spectacular!) and spent Monday helping friends pack for a big move. But the time spent at Baycon was definitely quality time.
There was Terry (
threeoutside), Kelly (
saycestsay), Bob (
yourbob), bits of Dave (
dave_gallaher) and Spring (
dinogirl)--who was robbed, btw--and not nearly enough Chris (
jonnyeponymous. There was also lots of quality time with Rebecca IP (whom we have yet to seduce to the dark side) and other non-LJ friends (Howard, Tim, Lisa, Serena), a martial arts tournament at the other end of the convention center being run by a kung fu buddy of mine who just loved the idea of a convention and a tournament on at the same time in the same building (I would have loved siccing the MA types on the boffers and watching the bloodshed, but that thought is unworthy of me) and I loved the fact that I had to trek through the Charismatic Catholics to get to him.
I do feel that I am never at my best trying to conventionate before the last of the cramming has evaporated from my head like so much carbon dioxide from a Crystal Geyser fizzy water (spin-orbit interaction, anyone?) so I must apologize. And there were some dear hearts who could not attend and I missed the heck out of them. (Hey, Linz. Hey, Gregory.) Plus the Wu and I did not synchronize our con-clocks. Dang it.
Now--the theme of this summer is "Focus."
