... so Jessica Biel gets shortchanged in Total Recall ... I suppose if your husband (Len Wiseman) is the director of this reboot, he is gonna make damn sure Kate Beckinsale looks her simpering best ... I don't think I ever watched the original with Arnold Schwarzenegger ... Colin Farrell plays his "Hauser" with a furrowed brow that screams for a shot of botox ... the production design is very handsome, with scenes of the UFB (United Federation of Britain) in an apparent a homage to Blade Runner ... its imagining of the Colony which located in Australia (is there some kinda socio-political subtext going on?) but looking unrecognizable in its squalor, filth and grit ... the canals, floating junks and pan-asian exoticism appears an interesting perspective on a post-apocalyptic world.
