Happy Birthday HissyKitty!

Feb 16, 2007 12:37

It was HissyKitty’s birthday yesterday so we did what any average 29 year old would do, we went on the Official Neighbours Tour where you get to meet one of the stars. HissyKitty and I were haunted by the possibility of getting Ezek or Ned the two worst characters on the popular Australian, soapy, TV show, export, Neighbours. But as it happens we got to meet Ian Smith who is the best actor on the show, he plays Harold Bishop a salvation army Christian, who doesn’t drink and is a vegetarian. Ian was funny and friendly. We all got to talk to him and have our pictures taken with him and he autographed Neighbours postcards for all of us. I even got one for Edels and one of my sisters. I think he will defiantly remember me because I managed to embarrass him with my tactless stupidly. I will tell the whole story from the beginning.

I was getting my photo taken with him when he asked HissyKitty ‘what are we doing after this?’ I said ‘We are going to a vegetarian restaurant.’ and he said sarcastically but playfully ‘ooh that sounds fun.’ I said ‘So, not really a vegetarian then?’ He said ‘No, and I drink and I'm a womaniser as well.’ So, in front of about 20 British backpackers, I asked ‘I heard you used to bring porn to the set?’ He took it very well he said ‘No, it is amazing the roomers out there about me, one is that I own a brothel.’ I said ‘I mean to hide on set for other actors to find’ I meant as a joke, but by then it was to late and he had to deny it. Yes, I’m an idiot! Anyway here are some photos of Ian Smith, both of which were taken before the inappropriate conversation but I think he must have had an idea of things to come by the look on his face when he is having his photo taken with me (actually I think that is when he was talking to Kat, the tour guide took the photo and she was pretty bad at it). But on the up side, while he was giving me an autograph I did get to tell him that he is my favourite actor on Neighbours.

Anyway here are some photos:

The Robinson House where it was suggested by the storyline that Paul Robinson’s psycho son Robert, buried Conner after murdering him.

Conner was supposed to have been ‘planted’ under this rose bush; I think it was the smaller one in front with the tag still on it. But I think that must have been to gruesome a story line for Neighbours because as it turned out Robert only buried a garden gnome with a cryptic message, under the rose bush, none the less I thought it was photo worthy.
