Itching insect bites.
Itching to come home.
Itching to relieve the pain I see around me.
It's 9-11 again, and my country is gripped by another tragedy. I suppose terrorists aren't the only perpetuators of tragedy. I don't really feel as sad as I think I ought. I wore black today.
It's still HOT and humid here. No, wait, it just started pouring. Weather is so different in India. It shapes your life a lot more than it does in the US. California is such a BEAUTIFUL part of the world, I can't believe I got to grow up there.
Ummm, Justin Coalwell's mother is coming on Tuesday and the boys are all excited. She will stay for three weeks and we'll have one week off school. It will be fun to have her. I hear she's really energetic and creative and fun, and all the boys love her... Justin's cousin is also coming for two of those weeks, I don't know anything about him except that he's exceptionally talented at music... Before I know it September will be gone. . . In October, Justin leaves for the states for three weeks, So Di and I will hold down the fort at home and get everything ready for the big departure. I'll have to get all my final lesson plans written up and paperwork organized, and pack up all that I own here. Five days after Justin gets home we'll head up to New Delhi for a day and then fly to Hong Kong, where I'll say good-bye to the Coalwells. I am going to miss this family so much. I feel like the boys are partly my kids. I've fed them meals, rocked them to sleep, washed and put band-aids on countless owies. I taught them alot in school too, I suppose. Anyways. I hate good-byes.
THEN I'LL be HOME! And wear jackets and scarves and drink Starbucks and eat IN-N-Out and Round Table Pizza, and get to see my friends again. I've missed you all so much, and can't wait to have a bonfire and go to a show and all that great stuff that no one in India seems to appreciate. -Amy
