2) It's rambling time!! (I just really need to ramble about all kinds of vaguely fandom things.)

3) I wish I could get why some people think that not shipping in a fandom somehow makes you a purer fan. I don't ship anything in The Hobbit, does that make me a purer fan or something? Ehm, no! It just means that I don't feel the ships that others feel in the book/movie, that's it.

But to be fair, a lot of people seem to think anything that makes them different from another group of fans somehow makes them "purer". ("I read the book first!" "I hate the new actors, the old ones were better!" "I liked this actor before he was famous!") If hipsters are an actual thing, which I sometimes doubt, purer-than-thou-fans are hipsters.

4) I'm really looking forward to my birthday this year. I mean, sure, I'm at that age where every birthday is just one more deadline to meet. And sure, my birthday is pretty close to Christmas and thus tends to get swallowed up by that a bit. And sure, this year it falls on Friday the 13th.

But guys!! There's gonna be a movie with a dragon in it premiering on my birthday!! A motherfucking dragon!!!

5) How come any adaptation turning Watson to Sherlock Holmes' official love interest would betray the canon forever, but making Irene Adler an official love interest is just fine and dandy?

I mean, sure, you could argue that Sherlock may or may not have been infatuated with her in the original story. Would explain why he kept the picture of her. But there's no way you could tell me that Irene would leave her husband for Sherlock. Not considering that she went through everything trying to protect him from her previous lover. She is the woman as in the only woman who ever defeated him. (I would not say the only woman who ever impressed him, there were quite a few impressive women in the canon that I've noticed. Mary Morstan certainly impressed Sherlock in a positive way in the Sign of the Four.)

Basically, it's saying that it's okay to "promote" a character to love interest (or as also commonly happens, write in a love interest character from scratch) as long as there isn't anything gay about it. Which well, yeah, duh! I keep forgetting that the rest of the world (especially the media) is still living in the wrong century. -_-'

6) Yes, I put a spoiler warning on a story that's a hundred years old. It's a habit I pick up when I have the most spoiler sensitive sibling in the universe.

7) Which reminds me of the biggest spoiler that everyone are totally open about of the year. Which I won't be open about, but occurs in Star Trek Into Darkness, and which pretty much everyone but me guessed before they saw it. To be fair, I honestly thought it would be too stupid to actually happen. *sigh* JJ Abrams isn't really building me up with confidence for Star Wars. Sure, that problem was mainly writing and casting problem, but another problem on the other hand...

8) I guess that's it for now. I'm doing okay in school, and life's pretty fine. :) How are you?
