Well...the pain in my shoulder is going down but I'm by no means better.
It turns out that I am allergic to taking that high a dose of Ibuprofen.(the equivalent of 3 regular ones) I was nauseous, I had no appetite, I kept having horrible dizzy spells, and the problem I have been having with my intestines got worse; altogether not fun. So I sit down and reread the warning sheet that came with the pills and that's all symptoms of having a severe reaction to it, go figure. So now I'm back to taking a standard Ibuprofen when I wake up and one more later in the day to keep the pain down. It's not as effective, but it keeps me functional.
I tried calling the free clinic yesterday to make an appointment to follow up for my shoulder and to get the colonoscopy I need scheduled but apparently they aren't open on Tuesdays. I need to call the hospital I went to on Friday and find out what they did with all of that workman's comp paperwork I filled out while I was there, that they never gave me any copies of. Heck! My discharge paperwork doesn't even mention the fact that I went in for my shoulder, it all talks about UTI! So I need to get that straightened out. I also need to call my Gyno because I haven't taken my birth control since Thursday and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now. Espcially since I started my period this week even though I just had one the last week of November.
I'm so sick of this knot of pain in my shoulder and I wish it would go away so I could sleep properly! I usually sleep on my right side but if I lay like that it pulls on the muscle knot (or whatever it is since the hospital didn't see fit to tell me) and puts me in a lot of pain. It's hard to do many of the things I would normally do around the house, including using my laptop. I have to sit at strange angles to do any typing.
They prescribed meds for UTI and I took half a dose one day but it made all the side effects worse so I haven't touched it again since then. Besides, I'm not sure that I trust them to have diagnosed that right. They admitted to me that they had a med student in charge of my chart, which is why the promised prescription of the Ibuprofen wasn't with the chart when they went to discharge me. I'm betting other stuff got messed up too and I'm not happy about it, especially if it ruins my chances at getting the workman's comp for it. I shouldn't have to pay for the medical treatment caused by an injury received at work. The only thing that could have caused this injury was one of my duties on Thursday at work. I'll bet they try to fight it since I picked doing that duty. I usually have no problems with it but this time I did.
Well, here's to hopefully getting everything straightened out before the 15th so I can go into training for my new job with confidence in my health.
