OK, so I didn't get the job at Visual South. Bastards - oh well, their loss. Still waiting for a call back from Land Design. In the meantime, re-opened my unemployment claim.
Carolina IT Professionals had a job fair on Tuesday, so I went. Good contacts made, and a possible new career direction - Project Coordinator. I have the skills, its just finding a position. I am also looking into bookkeeping positions. I am registered now with six placement firms, three who only handle tech and three for office admin.
I am sending out resumes at an unbelievable rate. Someone has to bite. Someone else, that is. In the meantime, we work on the house and start prep for Beltane Bash 2006. Need to borrow our friends with power tools soon to fix the pavilion hub, have others come to help do repairs to the canvas and mesh of the pavilion, plus prep the yard and the grill. And work on getting the ceiling to the pavilion from its previous owner. Worker bees most welcome. Tentative date is April 29-30 for the bash -- more info later.
Also working on my sewing room. Found the spring/summer wall hanging I had been working on -- doing needle-turn applique and am almost done with it. Then assemble the quilt sandwich and machine quilt it. Sorting out thread and notions and fabric. Still have a baby quilt to make for my grand-guardian-child (or guardian-grand-child?) Need to get to someplace that sells 1930's reproduction fabrics and make a final decision on the pattern. Ohio Star? Rail Fence? Four-patch? Hmmmm.
Have fallen in love with Minute Maid Light Mango Passion. Yummmy!!! Much better than the lemonade and a nice change from plain old water.
Thanks to the fantabulous Chantelle, we now have Eddie Izzard's Definite Article on dvd. Oh my gods, was it funny. Also have Tori Amos' Fade to Red and Giada deLaurentiis's new cookbook. Did I mention how awesome Chantelle is? We also now have a bed in the spare bedroom upstairs. Yay!
No school tomorrow, which means I don't have to get up at 5:15 -- three days of not getting up at the ass-crack of dawn. No, wait -- its still 2 hours until dawn when I get up. Ick ick ick. Yayness for the sleep.
Party on, dudes.
