My girl's in the paper! Well, the Internet version of it, at least...
My oldest reads to dogs at the local library. There was a photographer there the first time we were there:

She's done it twice more since, reading to the same dog both times. And yes, she always shows the dog the pictures.
It's kind of scary. She's only in first grade, but she's reading at what's at least a third-grade level. We thought at first she might only be skimming, but we have her do book reports now and she remembers characters, settings, plots, and subplots.
I think she might be getting a wee bit bored with the picture books they're reading at school...
