Hmm.
So my sunburn is still a burn. I can't believe I got one so bad!
Anyway, here's what happened that day. We got up around 8am, and were out at the campground by about 915. We wandered around, and figured out quickly that command central was nonexistant. Hmm. So we wandered some more and eventually found Nick riding around on the golf cart like an idiot. Apparently at that point he wanted to shoot himself b/c things were going crazy. I don't blame him. His management skills were not up to par. In fact, after riding around in the golf cart....EVERYWHERE....around barracades, through the grass, across the track, down the street....he was nuts...he dropped us off to direct traffic at a 3 way intersection. Fun. So we were there....for the first 3 hours it was mainly cars and rental trucks and moving vans and campers and the like. It was confusing at first b/c he just dropped us there without any direction...so we were like "I dunno, go that way" :) But, it did start getting more orderly after awhile. The bikers came in around noon/1pm. And Nick and Todd were nice enough to let us stop about 10 mins early :) Yay! I was happy. I was so tired of standing there....then again it was something to do. I think I was most unhappy that I was burning. So we walked home and took cold showers to help with the sunburns...then ate some food and decided to head downtown. We got free rides on the bus b/c we were volunteers...yay. Downtown we were going to help out for awhile, but they didn't have much going on yet as it was only around 4. Hmm. So we got our stickers to gain access to all the events for free (go volunteering...even if we didn't really help out down there) and wandered around.
I tried calling people at that point, but my phone wouldn't let the other people hear what I was saying...though I could hear them. Ack. Oh well. We ended up going home around 6. After about 1/2 hour we went to Taco Bell (which opened on that day, yay!) and got some tacos/quesadillas etc.
I got some calls after that to go hang out, so I said I would call my people back later...which I did. But I only ended up hanging out with Linds. b/c the rest decided that if their other friends didn't call then I would be good enough to hang out with. Screw that yo!
So around 830 Lindsey and I went out shopping. We didn't really buy much. I got some aloe vera stuff...she got some cake...*shrugs*
But yah, I'm so scorched. My neck and face and arms are bright red...*sighs* I hope I get a good tan out of that!!! :)
In other news I just heard from Study Abroad centers at Iowa. Yee haw! I can be a peer advisor this year, I can be a Global Buddy, be hosts and even apply for grants to study abroad after I graduate! SWEET! :) I'm excited to help with that. There is a "returnee reunion" to help with reverse culture shock etc. and come to think of it....that hit me hard. I didn't have any problem going overseas, but I did have a heck of a time coming back. Bah.
So that's exciting.
Other exciting news, I move into my apartment next Thursday!!!!! WOOO HOO! :) I can't wait. We got the water set up and the electricity. Sweet! It's going to kick much arse :)
Well, I am off to finish studying a chapter of chem, then going to run for about an hour.
