Ah the joys of summer
So let the summer begin...or at least the storms.
Last night we had 6 tornados just north of here. One of them was on the ground for like 15 mins and was 1/2 a mile wide!!!!! No joke! It destroyed the small town of bradgate? (I think thats the one..I dunno, check out national news...it's there) There was one in the lil town about 15 mins from me....that got rid of a school and some houses....I'm sure the students were devastated with that one.
Now onto tonight. More tornados. And more. and More. Drat. For now it's all south of us, but it looks like the night is shaping up to be pretty entertaining. Nothing like a good scare, right? According to the radar, Nebraska is getting pounded and it's all moving my way. Woo Hoo!!! Pray for me :)
In other news, there is another house picked out. This time it's a log cabin house. It's kinda cute, but really small. Much smaller than we are used to, but maybe thats ok? *shrug* Who knows. We were ready to make a bid on friday until we looked at it again and my dad noticed that the roof was all wavy. It looks as if they are missing some supports, or they used too thin of plywood under the shingles...or both. In either case it seems to be sinking in. I don't think that's normal...is it? :) At any rate, my dad and the inspector are going out to the house this week to check it out. If it's ok, and not going to come crashing down any time soon, we'll bid and hopefully be moving soon. If not, then we bid much lower and hope they allow for the cost of a new roof....Either way my mom wants the house. It's got a nice garage...that's like 26x26, 2 car of course, with 2 different doors on it that both have openers. Then the yard is huge. It's on a hill, so that kinda sucks, but it's nice nonetheless. The house itself is cute, but really not finished. There are closets without backs on them, so you can see into rooms, there is lack of plates over the phone spot in the kitchen and some other electrical outlets....and the basement is completely unfinished. The only thing down there are the 2x4 frame and a toilet they hooked up....nice ;) No walls though...that's kinda extreme for a toilet to be in the middle of an open basement. *shrug* I dunno.
But, it's a nice house, built 4 years ago....wish them luck with that.
Currently I'm having a bowl of soup after a good 40 min run on my elliptical and a shower. You'd think I'd start seeing some results from running so much...*sigh* :)
Still no sign of a job. It's pissing me off that no one will hire for the summers. Arrrrgh! I need money!!!!
I start school on the 4th of June. That wont be so bad. Maybe while I'm at school I'll hear of a job somewhere....lets hope!
Anyway, that's what's going on in my life....real exciting :)
