Wooo hoodi'ooo hoo :)
So I'm back in the dorm...or...well....I'm in a dorm again (: Not the same one as last year...but it's super cool here at Iowa. I moved in two weekends ago...and since have settled pretty well. I met a bunch of people already. There is a group of us that is always hanging out and it seems like the floor is going to be one big happy family. We are always running back and fourth between the rooms and things...so that's cool. Amir (our RA) has a button outside of his door....yah....lets just say I figured out what it does and told everyone to walk by and push it.... I was with Alan talking with him and Khanh (who spranged her ankle...poor girl) and so we laughed our heads off...and basically, if you hold the button in, the firealarm strobe light flashes in Amir's room (: It's great!
He threatened to beat anyone who pushes it at 3am...so Alan said he would have nothing to do with pennies being stuffed in his door and ducktape over the button....*cough* (: Everyone on the floor is generally in the same classes, so it's really cool to have people to study with. Amanda is dating James (who lives in the dorm next door) and his roomie happens to be Evan Diehl...imagine that. But they are really sweet people and Alan is rooming with Rodger (I'm not sure what's going on with that...it's nice to have someone to run to though..and run around with (: it's cool!) and...what else...my roomate is a billion times better than the ones I had before. We get along well, so that is amazing! (:
My classes are going pretty good. I'm down to 3 classes...but still a fulltime student...how nice is that! (: I am taking a bio class, a rhetoric class and french. So basically this sem. will be a breeze (: Everyone else seems to be taking chem 1, so since I get to take chem 2 2nd semester, Rodger said that I can hang out with them while they are working on chem to make sure I'm caught up...so that's super nice (:
I think this year is going to be amazing. All of my people from before seem to have taken a leave of absense...and dont call or anything, so *shrug* whatever... this year is completely new to me in everyway....from the city, to the school, to the friends, to the dorm...to the food...oh my god! We have like a buffet thing going on downstairs. It's amazing. We've got a full salad bar (actually 2)...a Grill that's always got the flame going, an Asian station, a dessert line, an italian line, a line for like mashed potatos and turkey and things...a breakfast nook, and oh my, all the desserts you can think of. It looks like how the grrocery store has their rolls and things in the display case...amazing (: but it's pretty good. I havent been sick at all....and the best part! No grilled Cheese! THANK GOD! (: and, we don't have to clean our trays or anything...just put them on the rotating thing and off we go. It's nice!
But yah...I've got a break until 1:30, so I'm waiting on everyone to get back from class so we can go eat.
Things are really working out. The only sad thing is that my cell phone died and I have to go to coralville to talk to them at verizon...bah. But, Rodger needs to go out to wally world there and so when he finds a ride I'll tag along. If I can go during the week I'm sure my roomie will take me too though, so it's all good. I'm dealing without a phone (: amazing!
But yah, I'm off
