Jimmy's awake and playing with his toys (it's late, of course he is), and it's my turn to get up with him, so... here I am. I figured it less stressful not to fight with him on the whole sleep thing, it just means my schedule is now warped to fit his warped view of waking hours. We're trying to get him to operate on the schedule that most human beings work on but he's just not interested most of the time. Oh well.

I just hope this won't affect me later today when I have to go into the inn for a shift! I've been back to work there for a couple of weeks now, and it's really like I never left. I've fit right back in. Brendan hasn't even been a problem, because my aunt, bless her, has been careful to schedule his work either far away from me or on days when I'm not even around.

It's been a great weekend for Quidditch. Devin and I went to see the Kestrels match yesterday (while Jimmy spent some quality time with his paternal grandmother) and were treated to quite a show. Everyone was dead on with their shots and Dee almost looked a little bored at the goal hoops because most of the action was up in the other end of the pitch. I just love a good Kestrels win; it puts me in a good mood for awhile. And Saturday, I watched Devin play against the Cannons and damn he was good. I wish the weather was warmer so I could bring Jimmy out to see, but we'll have to wait until the spring for those sorts of outings, I would imagine.

All that aside, I have some Quidditch news of my own. Guess who is no longer a reserve for the Lambasters, but has her starting spot back as of Saturday morning? OH YES. I am SO EXCITED to actually be back playing and not sitting on the bench (because playing reserve in the minor leagues is not exactly the same as playing reserve in the regular league)! My first match is next Saturday (no time like the present to get the ball rolling again) against Cork. Which is funny, because I actually live in Cork but play for the Limerick team. ANYWAY. I'm back to playing again, which is what I wanted to do after Jimmy (and he's nearly four months old now, we figured the time was right) and I am going to do everything in my power to get on some radar screens and see if I can make the jump to the big leagues next season in some capacity. Between this and U21 I figure I have a shot if I play my cards right.

I wonder what this week will bring, after all of that.

I can't possibly thank you enough for everything that you did in helping me get ready for this. The practices, the critiques, looking after Jimmy, giving me space when I was freaking out, listening to me when I ranted and complained... all of it.

I love you.

And since Don has asked me to keep this quiet until Anne spills the beans to the rest of the world, I'll just have to say this here: part of me still cannot believe that he is engaged. Mr. 'No offense but marriage is a little weird' is going to be doing the same deed.

I am happy for him, though. He's my best mate, my cousin, and I just want him to be happy. Which he obviously is with Anne in his life. All that's left is for him to forage a career out of making music and he'll have absolutely nothing left to complain about, the bastard.
