Christmas ended up being ok. Shit, it's only the 27th? Well basically my day after Christmas was 10,000x better. I got movie tickets from my aunt so we didn't have to pay to see Juno, which was a pretty good movie with pretty good music. Other than that, his parents decided not to cook dinner, we watched the Louie CK I bought him, ate cheesecake, and played Mario Kart.
Yesterday I was supposed to work for 7-9 hours. Hour and a half later, at 10 am, I was sent home, that was niiiiiice. My dad invited Nick and I over for lunch...holy shit it was amazing. He made a stir fry of steak and peppers and rice. Amazing! We continued on to Northampton and shopped for at least 8 hours. We went into every store I always like to go into, but don't bother when with Nick. I got a cute cute hat from Faces, I've always wanted one so figured might as well! That's all I bought up there, despite the amazing length of time we were in Northampton. Found a Voxtrot poster at the box office, but once I discovered the timing of the concert, I no longer wanted it. Neither does Nick, what a shame. The 1990's and the Little Ones! Damn, if only I were home. We then went to the mall and got a fabulous early dinner at the food court, my treat. Hmmm we did a lot, but once again, I only bought one thing....a cute pink sweater from the kid's section at Macy's! We played in massage chairs at Macy's, amazing!, and played with a goldendoodle named Teddy. He peed, that ruined the fun...the dog, not Nick. Hmmm, went to Build a Bear to get our shit and visit Isa, when he surprised me by offering to buy/build a bear! There's a new scruffy puppy at work and he said as long as I didn't buy it today, he would get it for me for Valentine's....but here he is, sitting in my room, Mr. Tambourine Man! That was cute. At one point we saw Nicolle and Dave....awkward. Then another Mal and Chrissie. Then spent quite awhile chatting with Evan at customer service. What else? Barnes and Noble! I bought one of the two collections of Flannery O'Connor's short stories, and he bought Summerteeth by Wilco andddddd Bukowski short stories!! Yay for us having the same taste!
The night ended with Cheesecake, why did I capitalize that? Fuck, well cake and more Louie Ck. We came here to sleep, and.....it turned into a sleepover. It doesn't seem like he will get into much trouble, surprisingly. I hope not. We slept for about 12 hours haha that's what shopping does I suppose. As much as it was unplanned, it was the perfect ending to an almost perfect day.
Oh yea, I got the Maccabee's Colour it In and a collection of Bukowski poetry from Nick. My mom got me amazinggggg slipper socks, certificate to our salon for a pedicure! Umm a gas card, and a framed picture from Africa. My dad, well, he got me this laptop that I love so much. Also, these cuuuuuuuuute sandals from Panama/Costa Rice, supposedly he bought them in a hut up in the mountains? I hope so. And a pretty little bracelet that's very me, from Panama. Nick got all the music and books he asked for, which results in my burning it all. The books, oh god. There are so many books to read! I also picked up Evan's version of Slaughter House Five last night. Haha from Nick's mom my second gift was a Spongebob & Patrick hot cocoa set.
I've written so much because I really am overwhelmed by the little pile that has accumulated across from my bed. I need to clean and vacuum and throw away shit, but ahhhhhh. I have an oncall but am hoping it's not used, I guess if I am, it's not that big of a deal, only 5 hours. Oh, I got paid today nice! So I looked all over for a Jennifer O'Connor cd and found nothing. I need to order that and the Kingsolver short stories offline asap. Tomorrow is work and Nick's family party. Saturday is a nice short day of work. And Sunday.....an on call. Monday we got to New York!
I'm afraid that Blood on the Tracks is so fucking good, I can't get into any other Bob Dylan cd. Haha, that's my biggest problem at the moment. It's just annoying, I love Idiot Wind so much. Ok, ok, off to cleaning I go.
