Last night, on our quest to cook at least 2 new dishes a week, I undertook the task of Japanese Style Pork. Overall, very yummy but I would make a few changes and I ran into a few problems

Thanks! I think a lot of what makes it look so great is Andrew's photography. I have contracted all pictures out to him because I am TERRIBLE at taking pictures.
We have a rating system in our house for new dishes. If it is above a 7, it will get made again. Anything below...goes to the trash.
Almost everything gets chopped, diceds, etc when I get home. I haven't made a ton of RR's meals but I have noticed that many of them take more than 30 minutes or require the use of so many pots and pans that the clean-up negates the 30 minutes prep.
My suggestion...start with things you know will be quick and timed to finish together until you get the hang of it. Do you eat shrimp? If so, I have a great shrimp recipe that I serve with couscouse and some sort of veggie that is done within 15 minutes. It's a good starter dish. :)
Also, you'll get faster at chopping and prepping as you cook more. Two things RR does that I LOVE are the trash bowl instead of several trips to throw things away and putting everything you need out before you start. That really helps me because it is all within my reach.
