So I now have a gym "routine". I still hate the gym but I'm pretty excited about actually having a structured plan while I'm there. What I usually do is go, try do 20 minutes on the treadmill, and then look around at all the other equipment, feel totally intimidated, and leave. Now I know how to use some of the weight equipment.

I left my actual routine in a filing drawer at the Y, so I don't have to worry about losing it, but I sort of remember (and now you will see how gym-savvy I am when I describe the machines):

10 minutes warm-up (bike, eliptical, rowing machine... whatever I feel like)
20 minutes cardio (I will probably use the treadmill for this)
some machine that works legs
another machine that works legs
a machine that works shoulders
a machine that works chest muscles
a machine that works abdominals
stand on this half-ball thing and do bicep curls
lie on the half-ball thing and do crunches
stretch
go home

Of course, it's a little more detailed than that. But I am excited. Every month or so, my trainer will introduce me to new equipment and change my routine. And this is all included in my membership fee, or I wouldn't be doing it. I am also planning on taking a yoga class (for the first time ever) in November. No more fat shannabannanna!
