Hello!

So our move went fairly smoothly. My parents and Dan's parents all came to help. It was so great to have my mom here. She knows me best and could get away with telling me to take a break, eat something, stop being a bitch, etc.

I love our new house but we sure bought a project house. Here's our rough timeline for the next year:

Fall:
-replace the roof
-put a vent in the main bathroom (can you believe there is no vent? At least there's a window but still...)
-gut and redo the bathroom (new tub, cabinets, mirror, countertops, sink, etc.)
-replace all interior and exterior doors (fortunately, we already have brand new interior doors waiting to go up)

Winter:
-paint interior of house
-knock down a certain wall in preparation for the kitchen

Spring:
-new kitchen!
-new flooring throughout main floor
-start the yardwork

After those projects are done, we also want to build a garage, redo the fireplace, replace all the windows, start on creating Dan's dream basement (wet bar, poker table, big screen TV).

So far, we've been working on lots of updating of light fixtures, light switches, electric outlets, etc.

I think I'm most intimidated by the yard! We have lots to do. We have a fairly big yard but the previous homeowners did very little landscaping. The fun part is we get to decide exactly what we want. But I have no experience with gardening so I'm a little overwhelmed.

I will probably blabber a lot about house-stuff in my journal now. Maybe I should create a filter so people don't have to be bored by the tiny details?
