Here's a quick summary of what's going on!
We went to Vancouver for the weekend. Went to Dan's 10-year highschool reunion. I only knew a few of his friends but I had fun. Drank WAY too much red wine and payed for it the next day. I'm getting to old for this shit. But had fun. We also took our families out for father's day breakfast at a pub, had a bbq, met up with other friends at the beach, etc. As usual, our trip to Vancouver was pretty much just a stressful rush to see everyone, but we had a good time.
On the drive back, we stopped at a farmer's market. We bought a big basket of raspberries. Brought them home - mouldy. Yuck. Oh well. We also got some jalapeno jelly (VERY GOOD) and maple syrup butter (too sweet for me but Dan loves it).
My nephews are amazing. I love them. They are about 19 months right now. Very fun. They are really into pushing limits and I love it.
Today, we officially start packing. Dan's dad got us 2 dozen brand new boxes. They are bigger than I'd like but they'll be manageable. He also got us a stack of packing paper so I don't have to use news print. We move in less than 6 weeks! We are going to buy our fridge and stove this week. We're getting a gas stove and I'm very excited about that. Probably more excited than one should get over a stove, but I have to tell you - Dan is more excited than I am. I've booked a moving truck. What else?? We are going to buy our couch as soon as it goes on sale again (it goes on sale every six weeks or so). It has to be special ordered so we'll be able to just have it sent right to the house. We'll buy the love seat in the fall.
My birthday is Sunday. I have to work that afternoon so I'm celebrating on the following Tuesday. First ladies' night golf with a couple of my co-workers (I love my job for many reasons but one prime reason is I'm finally making some girlfriends here - about time after 3 years living here), and then to the pub with with Dan and our other friends. I have a pretty strong feeling Dan will be out of town next week but I'm going out anyway!
For my birthday, Dan is buying me new golf clubs. I know that I'm a loser but I can't wait to go pick them out. I can't believe how much I enjoy golfing. (Or is it the cold beer on the 15th tee that I love...)
I've gained five pounds since January, so losing that plus 10 more is my goal for the rest of summer. I'm just in such a rut right now when it comes to exercise. Time to snap out of it.
Okay, that is a quick outline of what's going on right now... Things are pretty good and I'm happy.
