MegaCon. ^.^
Just got back from a nice long weekend of anime goodness. Friday I went with James, and we got lost on the wrong side of the covention center. When we finally located where the con was being held, it was over for the night. Sssooo...we went to peek into the dealers room, ran into Angela and her friends, and went back home.
The next day I got up super early, got into my Jakotsu cosplay, and piled into James's dad's car with James, Jer-chan, and Shawnee. We stopped at the $1 Store so Shawnee could buy fake guns (she was dressed as an impromptu Mr.K) and finally arrived at around five minutes to 10. There was a GINORMOUS line, and while we were waiting in it there was quite a bit of drama:
1. Watching Jer-chan (dressed as Katan) have beautiful reunion with a Rosiel
2. Trying to get in contact with Kailey and Sarah at the same time
3. Listening to Shawnee's 48 mood swings a second
4. Hearing that the Rosiel read my update on Shinjitsu no Shi, recognized me, and loves my site. XD
When we finally DID get up front and everyone got their tickets (me eventually finding Kailey and her friend), I still didn't have mine because Sarah wasn't there yet. So James went off with Shawnee and Jer-chan and left me there to wait for her when I suddenly realized that he had my wallet and was not picking up his cell phone. >.< I sent Kailey in after him, telling her to COME RIGHT BACK, and, well, I didn't see her again for the rest of the con. u.u Sarah finally showed up and told me the Cosplay contest is nearly full, so we raced upstairs to the third floor to register. James started calling me nonstop asking me where I was and we could barely hear eachother, so after I filled out the registration form, Sarah and I headed back down to find them. James gave me my wallet, I paid Sarah, and we FINALLY had everyone together (sans Kailey) to go into the dealer's room. U.U
Shawnee immediately dragged me to something I "HAVE TO SEE" claiming she has "FOUND GOD" while I was gone. So I was pulled at top speed through all these people to the back of the con. There was a very hot guy sitting at a table with a poster behind him.

And then I realized...
THIS GUY SITTING HERE *IS* ATREYU FROM THE NEVERENDING STORY.
OMFG YES.
So ya, I was spastic. We got to hug him and take our pictures with him and even get his autograph. One of the most joyous moments of my life. I still cannot believe it actually happened. I GLOMPED ATREYU!! *twichspazzdie*
Anyhow, after much prying away, we went to look around at all of the merchandise. Shawnee ran off, James ran off, so me at Jer-chan were on our own. For awhile. ^.^
We picked up a stray Shuichi girl who told us she used her friends to get to the con and they were being bitchy, so she asked to hang with us. Of course we said yes. So we wandered around a bit more with her until we had to leave at 1:00 for the contest pre-judging. Our skit was going to be K, Jakotsu, and Katan attacking James for his Pocky. He was already up there waiting, but Shawnee was nowhere to be found. We went back to the dealer's room to find her again, and after nearly twenty minutes of searching we finally found her. We went back upstairs AGAIN and got ourselves in line to be judged.
Then I realized: I had to be at work at 4:45. The contest started at 4. We were entry #126. There was no bloody way we'd be on stage before I had to leave. *siiigh*
I gave up my part to Shuichi, but then Jer-chan didn't want to do it and niether did Shawnee without me. So we gave our entire slot to Shuichi since she was too late to register and had a skit of her own in mind. We stayed with her for a few hours while she waited - stole someone's pringles, shared our Pocky with a random Vash, got glomped a few times (and glomped a few others - I finally found an Inuyasha who recognized who I was dressed as when I ran up to her screaming "Inuyasha~!" while in character ^.^) - but it was taking forever for the prejudge, so we all got ourselves up and went to get something to eat since all of us were starving. We lost James again in the process but figured he'd gone off to DDR again.
The food there was uber-expensive - Jer and Shawnee opted for the burger line, while Shuichi and I found a salad place we thought would be less expensive...but wasn't. I remembered some kiosks in the dealer's room and we headed in there to check out the prices. Shu got a Gyro for $6, I got a chicken leg and thigh for $4. We met up with the others in the food court, devoured our stuff and took more pictures, then headed for another round of shopping before I had to leave.
I finally spotted Kailey - she was carrying a Kirara plushie and donning a new Naruto headband - and then hugged everyone goodbye and headed out to work. It was tedious as usual but fun since I arrived in full costume and very likely scared a few coworkers.
Sunday we got a later start. I managed to get and extra $30 out of my mom and grandma so I could actually buy something - namely an autographed print from Noah Hathaway (aka Atreyu ^___^). I headed out with James again at 11, once more in full Jakotsu cosplay, and arrived at about 12:30 PM. We made a few rounds of the dealers room and I found the elusive wallscroll with Jakotsu and Suikotsu on it that I'd been going nuts about purchasing the day before. James leant me $20 to buy it and the Inuyasha OST 3. We went to visit Atreyu again (he rubbed my back when I glomped him! *huge grin*) and I got the print I wanted. ^___^
We walked around to few other guest tables and then went upstairs to the second floor to AnimeSushi's viewing rooms, where they were apparently showing a favorite of mine and James - really bizzare comedic anime. The section was even labeled as "WTF?!" in the con guide. ^.^
After that four-hour funfest (I am now a huge fan of Bobobo Bo Bobobo :p) we went back to the dealer's room to make our final rounds. James got the Chobits bunny and a .hack//SIGN wallscroll, and I, after unsuccessfully being able to find a Kirara plushie (every place was sold out), bought four packs of Inuyasha series IV bromide cards for $3 each. By this time it was nearly closing, so we went back outside to leaf through our goodies. James fell asleep on me while I squealed about getting the Jakotsu and Bankotsu hologram card in one of the bromide packs I bought. Around 6:00 PM his dad arrived and we left and went out to eat at Chili's. James wasn't feeling good and went home instead of hanging out at my house, so I shut myself in my room while I put up my new wallsroll and listened to IY OST 3. I don't remember exactly when I fell asleep, but I woke up again at 3 AM to turn my CD player off. :p
So ya, fun weekend. New Friends, new memories, new crap to add to my insanely huge anime collection. New SHICHININTAI crap, in particular. :)
