Snapes... why does it have to be Snapes

WELL HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE

I can't go back home today because I r werking l8er :( But I dunno if I'd want to, either way... my mom and I still haven't made up, and she went on some vacation with her friends this weekend anyway. I'd like to visit with my grandma, but idk... every time I go over to her house things just feel awkward. Sarah's going back, so she'll be delivering some gifts for me.

Friday was a pretty awesome day. I went to the Florida Aquarium, which would have been nicer if it hadn't been overflowing with hyper children. I have to go again on a slower day, maybe a Tuesday or something. But it was cool to finally get to go and watch all the sea life float around. After that, I went to see a movie in the nearby theater, WHICH IS THE WEIRDEST THEATER EVER U GAIS. They turn it into a club at night, so there are all these bars and fancy booths and sofas throughout the lobby and some of the theaters. I saw Death at a Funeral, which was pretty mediocre, but it was so neat to get to recline back on a cushy leather couch instead of constantly trying to adjust myself in an uncomfortable movie seat. I enjoyed it much more just because of that c:

Last thing I did was go aboard a WWII-era cargo ship/maritime museum called the American Victory. It was probably the coolest thing I did all day. There was hardly anyone else on board and you were permitted to explore the whole ship... all the corridors, mess hall, sleeping quarters, engine room, storage areas, everything. They had creepy old music from the 40s playing at all times, which added to the atmosphere. Apparently, a local paranormal group did an investigation on board and found some stuff. The guy I asked didn't seem to know the details, but still. That's so cool. I didn't really sense anything out of the ordinary beyond the mood that was created by being by myself and the music. I'd go back though. I love history so much ♥

It was a (mostly) peaceful, relaxing day. I would've liked to have someone else around, but it's always nice to take things in at my own pace. Sarah was at work, so once she got off, I met up with her in Channelside and we got ice cream and sushi. There was an old guy dressed up like a Jedi wandering around in the courtyard with a working R2D2 that apparently comes every weekend, he sort of made the day xD

Next week I get to start shopping for the supplies I'll need for the Archaeology Field School :3 I need boots, a hat, a trowel, a waterproof back pack, a water cooler, and various other items that will make me feel incredibly awesome while wearing them. I know a bit more information about the class now, too: each day we'll be meeting at the school where we'll have a brief lesson, take the school's vans out to the site, dig, then come back where we'll be debriefed. We'll learn how to do lab work, too, as well as cataloging. I'm mainly worried about the heat. I know I can get a little delirious if I'm out in it too long. I sweat really easily and really heavily, and as a result I tend to need a lot of water and food. I hope I can stay on top of things so I won't get really sick.

Otherwise, I'm pretty excited. I have four days off next week, and I'm going to try to rest up as much as possible. Maybe do some more fun stuff, too.

After that, I have to start getting serious. If I don't get As in my Summer courses, there's no way I'll make the Honors Program. I goofed off and procrastinated too much this past semester, I let some lesser assignments go, and I have almost straight Bs as a result. If I want to be taken seriously in my field, showing my professors that I care about it needs to be my first priority.

school, shopping, fun
