What are everyone's top-10 favorite traditionally-animated Disney movies and why? You can leave off the "why" if you're feeling lazy, but it'd be nice to know.

Mine are...
1. The Lion King

What can I say? It means a great deal to me, I've loved it like crazy since childhood, and it tells a universally resounding story. The beautifully done animation, characterization, and soundtrack doesn't hurt, either. It's just perfect to me, 'Kimba' controversy and all.

2. The Hunchback of Notre Dame

It has a lot of depth, departs from the Disney norm, carries a great (but realistic) message, has great music, unique characters, and the whole look of the film is just incredibly gorgeous.

3. Peter Pan

Simple, but resounding. It really touches on the bittersweet, eventual loss of childhood. I'd like to think I had my own adventure with Peter that I'll someday remember when I spot a pirate ship in the clouds c:

4. Bambi

This movie is just classy... it's pretty, well-executed, it's art. It really does play a lot like a serious documentary and is not nearly as cutesy as most people make it out to be. I can get bored and annoyed with a lot of older Disney films, but Bambi always captivates me from beginning to end. Oh yeah, and Flower and Bambi are MEN :|

5. Mulan

It's great. Entertaining as well as inspiring, has a powerful soundtrack, and the story flows well. I never tire of it. It's just a really good movie.

6. Aladdin

♪ I can show you the world~ ♪ .... need I say more? :'D

7. The Princess and the Frog

Fun, feel-good, AMAZING music (I can't really pick a favorite song), wonderfully loose and flowy animation that's got a lot of heart and it shows. You can really tell how excited the animators were to return to the 2-D medium. I feel like they did a fantastic job. And I ♥ Mama Odie!!

8. 101 Dalmatians

The stylized art in this movie is great and the amount of spots to be dealt with before the word CGI even existed is impressive enough on its own. It runs so smoothly it's nuts. An enjoyable, classy film as a whole, with great characters and memorable moments. One of my favorites as a kid.

9. The Emperor's New Groove

A good example of a comedic/spoof animated movie. Really, the makers of all of the ultra-lame recent ones could take a good lesson from this film. It's funny as hell without being offensive, patronizing, or annoying, the style and art is fun to look at, the characters are fabulous, and it carries a nice message that isn't shoved in your face.

10. The Fox and the Hound

Childhood favorite. It has a lot of flaws and some dumb, cringe-worthy humor, but the actual story is powerful and honest enough to make those things forgettable. The ending was beautifully tragic, and isn't that what stays with you?

Alright f-list, your turn :)
