The Teachers Union is one of the most powerful unions in Canada. Dedicated to protecting its teachers, not the students they teach.
It was well known that the Waterloo County Board if Education, would deal with those teaches suspected & even confirmed, convicted 'bad things doing' individuals teaching, much the same method as the Catholic Church. Simply transfer them.
KCI was well known that the VP there for a few years had been convicted of sexually harassing a school secretary at another school. ( and he was vicious, even mentally deranged in my opinion, certainly should not have been anywhere near vulnerable individuals).
I personally saw the twisted, sick and downright dangerous teachers far outnumber the good through all the teachers I ever had. And the structure was and still is, set up, to protect them, as opposed to the children.
Children come out of the education system, far less than the potential which could be attained at best, forever hurt or traumatized by it at its worst
Bad enough to suffer from others around who are untrained & ignorant, but at the hands of the ones supposedly trained to help not harm.
