First, you have to know that I never learned, so I'm probably not doing it the right way :)
Also I'm using Paint Shop Pro, not Photoshop.
I zoom into the picture almost enough to see every pixel and then cut (with the lasso tool) little bit by little bit. If the result isn't smooth enough when I have copied the body base on the background, I select the zone and fill it with a colour of the background to cover the bit I want to correct.
There's probably a more appropriate way to do it ;)

Can I ask how you get your clipping paths to look so crisp and smooth?
