Semi-Final, Round 1
And then there were three! Welcome, semi-finalists, to...well...the Semi-Final of Round 1!! Congrats on making it this far...now comes the really competitive, creative part of the round. Who's excited? I know I am!
After a bit of a shake up last week, some moving and tweaking had to be made to the themes and remaining challenges. And how perfectly it worked out for this semi-final!
The two themes being utilized this week are Awesomesweater of Ascension and Badass Baddies. Now, we all know that awesomesweater Daniel wore at various times in the SG-verse pretty much came to represent a symbol of goodness when it came to him. I mean...he wore it all through his ascension year! Well, we've got the complete opposite of such goodness with the handful of badass bad guys Shanks has played over the years. That's what we'll be working with this week - the wonderful opposing factor.
So here's the twist - for this challenge, we wanna see that light and dark utilized within your icons. You will be submitting two icons for this challenge, a 'light' icon and a 'dark' one. It's your choice which theme is the light and the dark, but you must have one of each. As icon makers, you know there is a fine line between making an icon too bright or too dark. And that's what makes it a challenge! We're looking to see which of you, our lovely semi-finalists, can find that perfect balance!

- Only the caps provided for this challenge can and MUST be used.
- You may use more than one cap in an icon.
- Textures, brushes, and animation are all allowed. Text brushes are NOT, however.
- Two icons are REQUIRED for this challenge! Do not post your submitted icons publicly until the challenge is over and results are given.
- If you wish to change your submitted icons, simply edit your comment or delete the original and post another.
- Comment if you would like to use a skip. If you have signed up and fail to submit an icon in time, we automatically assume you wish to use a skip and will do so on your behalf. SKIPS WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED FOR ANY REMAINING CHALLENGES.
- The 'Special Theme' (in this case light vs. dark) must be stuck to. If it seems the icons you submit do not meet the criteria of the special theme, they will not be counted. You will be notified in advance that they must be reworked to fit the criteria before submission time runs out.
