(no subject)
Hello to all. I am quite chipper for waking up with a migraine this morning, don't worry I took Excedrin, though that isn't exactly why I am so excited. I am currently indulging in my geekly nature. Let me explain. Weeks ago I was bit by a creative bug. I've been making Hogwarts House colors scarves for a few of my co-workers and was struck by the idea that I MUST have a blanket with all the House crests on it, crocheted of course. After much searching on the interweb device I decided to make my own pattern (How hard could it be, right? Deep down inside I know I've bitten off more than I can chew, but I'm still basking in the euphoria that is my creative drive.)
So, yesterday I picked up graph paper, colored pencils and a note pad. I then proceeded to begin my big assed project. And for your viewing pleasure I've included the preliminary drawings of the first coat of arms, Gryffindor. (I started with this House, not because it is my fav, but because I dislike it the most. All mistakes will be made on this crest and by the time I get to Slytherin everything will be just perfect.)

And a quick explanation as to how this will work. Each square on the graph paper represents one single-crochet stitch, so those pics of the shield are roughly to scale.
