“Four years… it’s only four years, and I’ll be back… I promise…”
The first time I heard it, I didn’t know whether I can hang in there or not. Four years is not a while… it’s a long time for me.
The first year of waiting, it was so frustrating. I missed you so much… I wanted to meet you… I was always wondering about you…were you ok? How’s your life? Did you miss me? Were you happy wherever you are?
I wanted to see you, to hear your voice, to see your smile… but I still have three more years… three more years of waiting…
The second year, I felt like a shell… void, empty, alone… I missed you Kyu… but I was waiting… waiting at our promised place… I really wanted to see you…
The third year, I felt so impatient… I wanted to see you… but the thought that I survived three years without you made me hang in there patiently… just one more year… one more year until we finally meet again.
The fourth year came… finally… I can’t wait to see you Kyu… I finally can hear that voice again… I finally can see those smiles again… and I can finally see my beloved Kyuhyun…
I waited at the promised place… I waited and waited, but you never showed up. I started to worry… have you forgotten your promise? Have you forgotten me? I waited until the promised time passed… I waited until the next day, but you never showed up… where were you Kyu?
` The fifth year came, and I’m still here waiting for you.God granted my wish… though it’s been years since the last time I saw you, but I could never forgot your figure… you were walking towards me. I really wanted to run and hug you… but then, I saw a small figure beside you… someone I don’t know.
“Wookie hyung, how are you? It’s been awhile, right? I’m sorry I didn’t come last year… I… I still can face you last year… but now… Oh! I forgot, this is my boyfriend… he… he helped me these past four years…”
You looked at him… but the way you look at him, there is something… something I couldn’t explain. He looked at you too and as if he knew what you were thinking, he looked at me.
“I’m sorry, I forgot to introduce myself… I’m Lee Sungmin… I’m Kyuhyun’s Senior in his school”
Ah!! So that’s how it was… I didn’t know what to feel… should I feel happy or should I feel sad? I looked at Kyu…
”Were you happy Kyu?”…
“Hyunnie, I’ll wait in the car…”

He turned away… walked out towards the car. I looked at my Kyu… but I didn’t know whether I still can add ‘my’ in front of his name. As soon as Sungmin disappeared from his sight, you started to cry. I really want to hug you, but eventhough I tried, I couldn’t touch you… so, I just stood there, beside you… hoping that you’ll stop crying.
“I’m sorry hyung… I know I shouldn’t cry like this… but I still can’t forget about you… though I have Sungmin hyung now, but I only loved you… if only I could turn back time… ”
I tried to wipe those tears again… but I couldn’t touch you… now, I let my hand linger on your cheeks… I’m happy to just be able to see you… I know I shouldn’t ask for more.
“Hyung, were you there?”
I was surprised.
“Can you feel me Kyu?”
“I hope you’re there… I hope I can see you again… I miss you Wookie hyung… life without you is not life… I thought of suicide many times… but, your last words held me back from doing it…”
“Tell me how to leave you after I heard this Kyu…”
“Hyung… tell me… tell me how to see you again… I miss you so bad… I want to see you”
