A day in/with NYC

Apr 07, 2004 23:54

The day started off with finally getting ahold of Alice in the Bahamas. It sounds like they are having and excellent time and I am jealous. It may sound stupid but I actually miss Alice and Juliet alot, what the fuck am I going to do in college?

In spite of Nick's advice, I did not shower before dressing and heading out on my 30 block walk to the Disney screening room at 500 Park Ave. On the way I stopped for Tasti and had a new and interesting flavor:Rice pudding. Which, although i love real Rice Pudding I do not at all recommend.

Met Nick outside the building and we went inside the very small and comfortable screening room to see The Alamo which I highly recommend. We then stayed about 10 minutes after the last frame to see my sister's name in the credits which was actually really exciting for me (maybe not so much for Nick)

Nick and I then sojourned to Brooklyn and I got my first taste of Windsor Terrace which is a lovely neighborhood. It's really bizarre bc I just felt like we were in the suburbs. After the grand tour of 310 Caton Ave (highlighted by a viewing of Nick's precious acceptance letters) Nick was kind enough to treat me to ice cream (it's 2 for 1 day at Carvel). We headed back and I met Nick's dad and then we watched an episode of Curb before I went downstairs to meet Mom and Phillipa. I love the Crownes and they love me. We then watched 8 Mile but Nick needed to fast-foward through the sex scene and then we just skipped to the last battle which excites me more than you know.

After movie-ing I convinced Nick to play the guitar which he is very good at. Apparently both Nick and his mother think I am incapable of mastering the New York City subway system so Nick escorted me to 59th.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: The Cornell Class of 2008 website is up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
