There was an anti-abortion/anti-gay protest at my campus recently and I got a few lovely pictures and some good stories to share with you guys.

Here was the first thing I saw when I got to campus. I'd say these kids were between 12-16 and they're talking with a counter-protester.

Our GSA decided to write on the sidewalks and some of the protesters responded.

This one says "UWSP does not discriminate" and underneath it says "but god does."

This picture is just to show how crowded it got. This wasn't even the worst of it.

The guy with the red sign is a counter-protester and the sign says "reason over dogma."

I mostly show this picture to bring your attention to the small child. Later on in the day, that kid was wandering around and started running towards the street with none of the protesters paying any attention to him. I had to go and stop him and give him back to one of the protesters. The man with the guitar complained about people cursing in front of the children, but couldn't even take the time to watch his own son.

The man with the guitar is an "ex-gay" and he apparently sings songs about it, but he never played anything while I was there. *sad face*

Some students counter-protesting

At about this point one of the protesters brought to everyone's attention how the gay-pride rainbow is missing indigo so it's a false rainbow that can't make true light and only god's rainbow can bring us true light. Yeah, I didn't really understand that logic either.

I thought this was a cute picture. It's two faculty members out supporting the students.

Another faculty member came out with his baby since all the protesters decided to bring their kids.

And here's all the children of protesters next to one of their signs.

If anyone is interested in seeing a few more pictures I have them in my Scrapbook. They're tagged under "protest."

ETA: During the day the campus Christian group came out to make a statement about how they didn't agree with the protesters. They then gave everyone water bottles since it was hot outside.
