Today is the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Over 1.5 million Armenians were killed by Turks. Most of my family was killed, I have no family history, same for Serj, John, and Shavo as well as most Armenians. My grandfather who survived who was very young at the time, doesn't know his true age. How many people can say they don't know how old they are? Turkey needs to stop lying and admit this happened. Did you know its against the law in Turkey to admit the Armenian Genocide happened? The United States needs to recognize it happened instead of worrying about their poltical gain of denying it.
We're playing our SOULS show tonight, hope to see you guys there, its going to be a great show.
If you can't make the show and want to support the Genocide, you can find an event in your area here: http://www.genocideevents.com

The atrocities committed against the Armenian people of the Ottoman Empire during W.W.I are called the Armenian Genocide. Genocide is the organized killing of a people for the express purpose of putting an end to their collective existence. Because of its scope, genocide requires central planning and a machinery to implement it. This makes genocide the quintessential state crime as only a government has the resources to carry out such a scheme of destruction. The Armenian Genocide was centrally planned and administered by the Turkish government against the entire Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire. The Turks are Muslim and the Armenians are Christians, this was a jihad. Armenia is the first country to adapt Christianity. The genocide was carried out during W.W.I between the years 1915 and 1918. The Armenian people was subjected to deportation, expropriation, abduction, torture, massacre, and starvation. The great bulk of the Armenian population was forcibly removed from Armenia and Anatolia to Syria, where the vast majority was sent into the desert to die of thirst and hunger. Large numbers of Armenians were methodically massacred throughout the Ottoman Empire. Women and children were abducted and horribly abused. The entire wealth of the Armenian people was expropriated. After only a little more than a year of calm at the end of W.W.I, the atrocities were renewed between 1920 and 1923, and the remaining Armenians were subjected to further massacres and expulsions. In 1915, thirty-three years before UN Genocide Convention was adopted, the Armenian Genocide was condemned by the international community as a crime against humanity.

Thanks to all of you for all your support:

--seriously guys, this is the most important day of the year to me for this only reason. you dont know much about the genocide...i understand...they didnt teach it in school because....FUCK ALL, there is no reason why. theyre just pompus asses that decide one bit of history is more important than another. but if i had to learn about every other genocide and holocaust, why not this? i lost family because of this. if i could have nothing else, I WANT THE TURKISH GOVERNMENT TO ADMIT THAT IT HAPPENED.--

Before he made his attack, Hitler said, " After all, who remembers the extermination of the Armenians?"

It hurts my heart when I think of it.
