GUYS
GUYS
SANTA CAME
I got a Blu-Ray player--that's nice. Also an HDMI cable because that's by far the best quality connection. Almost ten feet long, also, for convenience.
No Blu-Ray movies, because my parents gave Planet Earth Season 1 on Blu-Ray to my brother instead (because he mentioned like, the night before that he wanted it, even though they bought it FOR ME), but whatever--I've bought myself some stuff (Wall-E, Watchmen: Ultimate Cut, the complete Battlestar Galactica series) on Blu-Ray since then. Is it any wonder I'm constantly in debt?
Oh, right, presents. Um. I got Friends: The Complete Series on DVD, that was nice. And then an iPod nano as my other big-pricetag present. I seriously did not expect to get all three of these huge items. I didn't even expect to get more than one, if any, so I was very happy to see all of these things.
True fact, I actually had the Blu-Ray sort of spoiled for me before Christmas. I was cooking godpasta (recipe to come because apparently people want to know what it is) for Christmas dinner (my aunt wanted to try it), so my dad had me look over his grocery list to make sure he picked up all of the necessary ingredients. At the bottom he wrote "Blu-Ray movie", and since we didn't have any Blu-Ray players before Christmas, and I was the only one to actually ask for one (my brother got one but didn't ask for it), I pretty much knew what was happening. Anyway. Somehow I still didn't get a Blu-Ray movie out of the deal!
Clothes, obviously. Dexter: Season 1 from my brother. My sister got me Superman: The Dailies, the first collection, which reprints the first several years of Superman's old newspaper strip. I've heard it actually holds up shockingly well, which is really surprising given that it was done in the late 30's, early 40's. I had this spoiled for me too, because my mom cleaned my sister's room and propped this present up on her desk, and I saw it when I went in to grab her chair. Yeahhhhhh. We all had a big laugh over it, but my mom didn't know because my sister bought this present crazy in advance, so my mom had no real reason to think it was a Christmas present.
Also! A big X-Box 360 tower, that I could use to hold my X-Box, controllers, games, etc. Of course I only have like, three X-Box games, but I can put other games on there too, so. But it's nice, and makes plenty of room for my Blu-Ray player on my shelf next to the TV. We also got one for the Wii in the living room, and now we're playing the Wii constantly because it's right there in front of us, instead of hidden under a table.
$110 from assorted relatives. Cookies from aunt. An Auntie-Anne's Pretzel Kit from the family Chinese Auction (I actually wound up with a small crockpot but traded afterwards). Probably some small stuff I can't think of because it's fairly irrelevant. All in all, though, a pretty good haul, right? I certainly thought so.
