Goodbye Florida, hello North Carolina
Well after a long awaited two week vaction back home in Florida I'm back in Wingate, North Carolina. I missed home so much! It was definitely the best vaction I ever had. I woke up Thursday morning to 26 degree weather in North Carolina and flew into 70 degree weather in Fort Lauderdale. AMAZING! My dad picked my up in his new red, Ford 150, extended cab. I'm not a big fan of trucks but it was a really nice ride. Man Florida was just as wonderful as I remember. I was home for about 24 hours when Katie came and picked me up and we drove to Palm Bay. Spend the night at her parents house and then went to Orlando the next afternoon. It was really bizzare though. I alway forget about the hurricanes because I wasn't there when they happened but my memory got jogged that morning. I couldn't really see the sides of the highway when we were driving the night before but there were all the trees slanted sideways or flat on the ground and all the land and houses you couldn't see before because they were hidden were in plain view. Weirdness.
Anyways got into Orlando and did a good amount in a short time period: saw two women's basketball games, went to the adidas outlet, took Katie clothes shopping, saw a ton of people, got to eat at Benningins, Moe's and Perkins. Good times. I missed everyone so much so it was good to see them even if I didn't really get to spend much time with them, that was enough. Can't wait until summer.
We drove back to South Florida Sunday night and on Monday night went to my first Miami dolphins game. KICKED THE PATRIOTS ARSES! It was great. Too bad drunk people really know how to ruin a night. Went back home Tuesday morning and drove to Palm Coast with my parents two hours later. Saw our new house. It's really nice. I will come in handy if I ever have more time off when basketball is over cuz then I can cruise down there instead of hanging out here with nothing to do.
The last week in Florida was a complete blur. Helped my mom spend money buying stuff for our new house, did the whole Christmas thing which was nice. Got to see most of my family and even my brother twice when I was home. I don't think there was anything big after that. Oh yeah how could I forget? I got my tattoo!!! The night before I left I went over to Rick's parent's place and his brother Armando did it for me. It hurt like lord knows what but I didn't cry or yell. I think it was the fact that I kept feeling this reflex to jerk my foot that was killing me than the actual tattooing. It's pretty though I will post pictures soon.
I got back into North Carolina the 27th and from the time I landed the day was crap. It took 30 minutes to get my luggage and somewhere between the airplane and my roommates car I lost my credit card, was late getting back so I didn't go to practice. Went to sign on to aol and realized my phone line wasn't working and it still isn't, saw the girl I was suppose to drive with to Myrtle Beach with for New Years Eve and she decided she didn't want to go anymore. Poop on her. Took 2 hours to get my oil changed and the basketball coach decided to give us 30 dollars to buy groceries for 2 and and half weeks. I really wanted to hurt someone, hah. But things have gotten better since then. I will be so excited when (that's right when not if) Lisa gets into UNC because it will be nice to know some one who lives closer than 8 hours away that I can go hang out with when I have this much down time.
Whew okay gotta run since I'm writing this in the training. Off to the gym. MUAH!
