Good Morning World

Too much to do too little time.

I didn't get to spend anywhere near enough time at Whole Earth Fest. this weekend as I'd have liked. I did get to swing by long enough to order a top to go with the pretty dragon skirt (yay!) and say hi/thanks to the guy I bought my dishes from last year. The silk vendor gave me the same comment about being 'strong' that she did last year when I bought the skirt. Either I'm buff, she's odd, or she doesn't get a lot of athletic women in her booth. Her stuff is absolutely gorgeous though and if I had more $$ I'd have a couple of her dresses. Pretty blue/green/purple batik silk happyness.

One of the reasons for missing WEF was however
Josh_summit's B-day adventure out to Napa. So I really can't complain much, food, friends, wine, just the right amount of wine snobbery. *grin* It was a lovely day, even if it was way too hot already.

I knew at the time when I was wishing the 3 months of non-stop grey away that I'd miss it as soon as it left and I was right. It's gone from 60 degrees and wet to 90 degrees and brilliantlly sunny over about 3 days (though that was a couple weeks ago) and now I'm plenty ready for the sun to go away again. Ow too hot to move, bright, eye-hurtings. The sun conspired with the trees at the end of the rains top produce an absolute pollen explosion. I've never really had seasonal allergies before this year. Yech. Claritin is nice, but not being allergic would be MUCH better. I'm hoping it'll start tapering off soon.

Finished the new indigo (it's indigo damnit not purple, not blue I can wear it to fair) skirt in time for wearing to dance last week and again for WEF. It's fluffy and light and not see-through unless you catch just the right angle to see shadows. So yay. I'd say time for new sewing project, but the Major and I got corralled into making up a full english outfit for JS before Pembroke so that's the plan for this week. Then maybe the wrap dress/jackets? I'd had tentative plans for a lot of the raw silk, but it's mostly gone to outfiting
koyote,
therealocelot and
josh_summit. (I really can't wait until we finish therealocelot's new viking-wear, I finally found a use for the lovely wool I've been dragging around since 1997 and it's going to look great on her.). Now I just need to go buy more silk in colors this time. Let the pre-pennsic sewing-fest commence. This year I'm going to need 2 weeks worth of clothes. Yay!
