What a dreary Monday. I'm sitting in my room listening to Band of Horses, a great sounding band but I think all of their music sounds pretty similar. This weekend was pretty great.
Friday: Had classes but they went by pretty quickly. I had dinner with Kam at Panera and then we drove to the mall to look around and then to Famous Footwear so he could look for some new shoes. Then we went and saw Zombieland with Megan, Harry, Russ, and Carli. It was a great movie and it actually had some decent music. Then Kam and I went back to his place for the night.
Saturday: Woke up to Kam telling me that I am not allowed to go walking home by myself at night after closing at Sherwin Williams, I guess he was dreaming or something but he was answering my questions. We got up and showered and he packed up his stuff. Then we drove to my place and I grabbed my stuff and then we went to J's for breakfast. I got a caramel roll and a cherry danish and Kam got a massive cinnamon bun. I could barely eat just the danish so no more two breakfast pastries for me. Then we went to Famous Footwear so he could buy a pair of shoes he had been contemplating. I restrung them with red laces on the drive home. We got home around 12:30. I went to Hobby Lobby when my dad went to Hy-vee so I could buy some more yarn. We hung out watching college football until my mom got home around 4. We had pasta from the farmer's market for dinner and it was delicious. After that I made my mom help me make a dress form out of duct tape. I went to bed but got woken up at 4:45 by Oscar to go outside. I didn't sleep well after that.
Sunday: Woke up around 9 after going back to bed at 7. Worked on my scarf a bit and watched some TV. I had leftovers for lunch and around noon Sam showed up to get ready for the wedding. I curled my hair and we talked about everything and then headed off to the wedding. It was a nice ceremony despite the cold weather. Their colors were eggplant, black, and orange. Less orange. They have been together for 20 years so their vows were pretty deep. They had BBQ style food for the meal because that is where they met. It wasn't very good though. We sat next to Xioin who works for my mom and his wife (both Chinese) and we corrupted them by making them try all of this different kind of American candy. His wife was so cute when she started experimenting with pop rocks and putting pixie stix dust in her lemonade. I ate way too much candy though. They had a pretty decent 80s cover band called The Jodie Foster Connection from Cedar Rapids. Sam kindly drove me to Kam's house around 6:30. I hung out with his family for a little while hearing about how his sister is doing on her own now. We stopped at BK on the way out to grab some dinner. It was the first fast food I have had in like a month. We listened to music the whole way back and talked about our weekends and it was really nice. We got back up and hung out until 10 which was surprising to me since I figured he would be tired and just drop me off. We went to his place and listened to music and watched the new SNL short. It was a nice weekend.
If only this week could just be over!
